you to use the power of Live Search to help millions of users discover your books. Live Search
gives information seekers distinctive, powerful tools that help them find answers to their
questions —including answers found in your authoritative book content.You control the
amount of content users see when they browse your fully searchable books. When
users decide that they want to buy your book, they can easily purchase it by going directly from the
search results to your commerce-enabled Web site, or to a participating retailer.
Why you should sign up
As a member of the Live Search Books Publisher Program, you increase your books'
visibility, you drive sales by reaching Live Search users, and you refer qualified traffic
to your Web site. Signing up is free and easy: review and accept the terms and conditions,
read the program policies, and begin submitting your books.
Submitting your book information
After signing up, you first submit your book information to the program to create your book
catalog. You specify the viewing rights that you want to give users, as well as all the
territorial rights that you have for the book. You can also designate links to your
commerce-enabled Web site. If you have a small number of titles to submit, you can use
our Web form to submit the titles individually. If you have a large number of titles to
submit, you can submit them using a Microsoft Office Excel, CSV or ONIX file. You can
update and edit your book catalog at any time.
Getting us your books
Once you've submitted your book information, it's time to get your books into the system.
The fastest way to include your titles is to upload the books as PDF files (covers can
also be in JPEG format), which you can do right from the program Web site. If you're
unable to upload electronic copies, just ship the books to us—you can print packing lists
and shipping labels from the program Web site. We'll take care of scanning your books and
indexing the pages.
Managing your account
As a Publisher Program partner, you can easily manage your account online. For each book,
you can assign a linked logo or a special promotion to be displayed beside your book when
a user locates it through Live Search.
What users will see
When a user locates your book through Live Search, they'll be able to view the book covers,
preview the book content, and search inside the book. Users can only preview as much of the
book's content as you specified when you submitted the title to the system. In addition,
users will also see a link to your Web site, your logo, the promotion that you specified,
and participating retailers who sell your book.
